Rx Mole is a site run by our members for our members. Member confidentiality is extremely important. No personal information is shared with any 3rd party or other registered members on the site. Trust is very important to us and other members of our network.
Users of the Rx Mole site can ask questions or submit prices on prescriptions drugs. Rx Mole doesn't confirm if a mole member is the actual user of this prescription it simply supplies the information for the benefit of all members.
Mole members in the system are identified by a user name. This user name is created by the mole member during registration. Personal contact information or member location is not visible on the site by other mole members.

We are a site founded by an HR professional to provide better transparency of prescription drug pricing. We are dedicated to empowering people with local prescription drug pricing information. We are an online community with a common goal to better consumerism.
Cash price is just what is sounds like, paying via cash, without insurance. You are probably asking yourself, "Why would I pay with cash when I have insurance?" The answer is very simple, You can sometimes get a much cheaper price if you pay in cash vs. running through an insurance company(normally generic drugs fall into this category).
Twenty years ago many prescriptions were paid for via "cash price". Today nearly all prescriptions are paid via an insurance plan. We are taught (by the insurance companies) how using their insurance saves us XXX dollars.
In today's world, the insurance companies tell the participating pharmacies at what cost they will reimburse back for a prescription and at what cost the pharmacy can sell the prescription. Insurance companies are essentially controlling the entire market process. This can create a very bad market situation (unless you are an insurance company). Additionally when you pay a pre-determined amount for your prescription, you are paying for a few things that waste your $$$$. These might be,
- Processing Fee - Each insurance company creates a processing fee into their model. These can have a wide range. These are simple ways to provide further revenue streams for the insurance company.
- Insurance Co-pay - Some insurance companies institute a "co-pay" into their system. In other words you pay $10 for all prescriptions. If a prescription costs $7 (normally a generic) then you still pay $10. The insurance company pockets the other $3.
- Cost shifting - Insurance companies "cost shift" from those healthy participants to those that are unhealthy (where they are losing $$$). When you pay a certain amount for a prescription, you pay for you and others covered by the insurance company as well. This can be said for nearly all medical coverage.
